Guy McPherson is Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. As an author and blogger, he developed the concept of Near-Term Human Extinction (NTHE), which theorizes that runaway climate collapse constitutes a near-term extinction event. McPherson has published more than 55 peer-reviewed publications. In 2009, he began living on an off-grid, first in New Mexico and later in Belize. He currently resides in Vermont.
